Chapter III · The Journey
Travel
Victoria Falls is easier to reach than you'd think. Flights, visas, weather, money and what to pack — everything you need to plan the trip.
01Airport
Fly into Victoria Falls Airport (VFA), roughly 20 km from town. Direct connections via Johannesburg, Cape Town, Addis Ababa and Harare. Airport transfers can be arranged — indicate this on your RSVP.
02Visas
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival; the KAZA UniVisa covers both Zimbabwe and Zambia if you plan to cross the bridge. Check current requirements for your passport before travelling.
03Weather
Late December is warm and green — expect 25–31°C days, dramatic afternoon thundershowers and lush rainforest around the Falls. Pack light layers and something for the rain.
04Currency
US Dollars are accepted everywhere and are the easiest option. Bring smaller notes; card facilities exist at hotels and larger restaurants but cash is king for activities and markets.
05Packing
Formal wear for the ceremony in earthy neutrals, smart casual for the weekend, swimwear, walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent and a light rain layer. A downloadable checklist will live here.
06Emergency & Arrival
Emergency contacts, arrival recommendations and transfer pickup points will be published here closer to the date — and included in the downloadable travel guide.
